Alongside SBP, all banks, microfinance banks, and development finance institutions will also observe a holiday on this day to celebrate Labour Day.
The decision was confirmed by the central bank in a statement released on Monday. According to the announcement, “State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) being a public holiday on the occasion of Labour Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”
For those who rely on banking services, it’s important to plan ahead. Transactions, deposits, or any other banking activities will need to be scheduled accordingly to accommodate the holiday closure. But don’t worry, it’s just for a day, and you’ll be back to your regular banking routine on May 02, 2024.
